From chopping onions and herbs to slicing brisket, trimming vegetables, carving poultry, and preparing seafood, the Steelport 8" Chef Knife is designed to perform with precision across virtually every cutting technique. Forged from Premium 52100 High Carbon Steel Every Steelport chef knife begins as a single rod of American 52100 high carbon steel. Steelport's proprietary differential heat treatment creates an exceptionally hard 65 HRC cutting edge for outstanding edge retention while maintaining a softer spine for improved toughness and long-term durability. The result is a handcrafted kitchen knife that stays sharp longer while remaining resilient through years of use. Signature Coffee Patina Finish Each blade receives Steelport's signature coffee patina, created by carefully submerging the blade in hot coffee during the finishing process. This natural reaction forms an initial protective layer on the carbon steel while producing the distinctive dual-tone finish that has become a hallmark of Steelport knives. As you continue using the knife, the blade will naturally develop additional character through its evolving carbon steel patina. Handcrafted in Portland, Oregon Every Steelport knife is handcrafted in Portland, Oregon using premium American-sourced materials. Skilled craftsmen forge, heat treat, grind, sharpen, assemble, and finish every knife individually, resulting in exceptional quality, balance, and cutting performance that defines Steelport's reputation for American made kitchen knives. Carbon Steel Knife Care To keep your Steelport chef knife performing at its best, hand wash and dry it immediately after use. Occasionally applying food-safe mineral oil will help protect the blade, while the natural carbon steel patina will continue to develop over time. With proper care, this handmade chef knife is built to provide generations of reliable performance. Product Specifications Brand: Steelport Knife Co.
