Obsidian – Dark by Design Our premium load, 8.6 Blackout 340gr “Obsidian” Subsonic Fracturing is built to embody the same qualities as its namesake – Obsidian appears stone-cold and smooth until impact, where it shatters into sharp devastating pieces. Designed around the Cutting-Edge Maximus projectile, this load delivers controlled fracturing terminal performance while preserving the deep, unmistakable suppressed signature that defines 8.6 Blackout. Purpose-built for shooters who value refinement as much as performance. Obsidian combines premium component selection with precise loading practices to produce exceptional consistency and dependable function in suppressed or unsuppressed platforms. Specifications: Cartridge: 8.6 Blackout Projectile Weight: 340 Grain Projectile Type: Cutting Edge Maximus – Fracturing Subsonic G1 BC: .489 Average Velocity: 1046.2 FPS (16” AR platform)   DISCLAIMERS: This ammunition was developed in a 16-inch barrel, if used in shorter barrels, they will still function but may not expand/fracture to their full potential. Suppressor Use Notice: This ammunition is designed with suppressed use in mind; however, users should always confirm safe firearm setup before suppressor use. Before attaching a suppressor, verify projectile stabilization and safe operation by firing unsuppressed and inspecting targets for clean, round impacts. Confirm suppressor alignment and barrel concentricity prior to use. Do not continue firing if keyholing, unusual sound signatures, point-of-impact anomalies, or signs of projectile instability are observed. Always follow suppressor manufacturer guidance and ensure all components are properly installed and torqued. Platform Compatibility Notice: 8.6 Blackout utilizes a larger projectile profile than standard .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO cartridges. Some standard-pattern AR-10 uppers that do not incorporate feed ramp geometry optimized for 8.6 Blackout may experience reduced feeding reliability or failure to feed. Proper magazine selection, feed ramp configuration, and firearm setup should be confirmed prior to use.
