7081817C1 | Genuine International® Consolidated Engine Controller ECM

Description: A Consolidated Engine Controller (CEC) 7081817C1 is an integrated electronic control unit used primarily in aircraft and advanced propulsion systems to manage and monitor engine operation. Instead of having many separate control boxes, a CEC consolidates multiple engine control functions into one system. Part Number: 7081817C1 Condition: New Manufacture/Brand: International Fits For 7081817C1 2000-2004 International DT466E 2000-2004 International DT530E Purpose of using 7081817C1   1. Simplify engine control Replaces multiple independent control units with one integrated controller Reduces system complexity, wiring, and interfaces 2. Improve safety Continuously monitors engine parameters Automatically prevents over-temperature, over-speed, flameout, or surge Executes safe shutdowns and fault responses 3. Increase reliability Fewer components and connectors → fewer failure points Built-in fault detection and redundancy 4. Optimize performance Precisely controls fuel, ignition, and variable geometry Adapts to altitude, temperature, and load conditions Improves fuel efficiency and thrust/power consistency 5. Reduce pilot/operator workload Automates start, operation, and shutdown sequences Allows “power-lever-to-thrust” operation (especially in aircraft) 6. Enable diagnostics & maintenance Logs faults and engine data Supports condition-based maintenance and faster troubleshooting   Signs of a Bad Consolidated Engine Controller 7081817C1 1. Engine won’t start or has failed starts No fuel scheduling during start No ignition command Start sequence aborts with no obvious mechanical cause 2. Erratic engine operation Surging or hunting Unstable RPM Uncommanded power changes 3. Loss of automatic control Engine stuck in a fixed power or “limp” mode Reversion to manual or backup control FADEC/CEC FAIL or DEGRADED indications 4. Abnormal indications Incorrect or frozen engine parameter readings Parameters that don’t correlate (e.g., fuel flow not matching RPM) Sudden warning or caution messages 5. Engine shutdowns or power reductions Uncommanded in-flight shutdown (IFSD) Automatic power rollback without a real over-limit condition 6. Fault messages & maintenance codes Repeated CEC fault codes after reset Built-in test (BIT) failures Controller won’t pass power-up self-test 7. Communication issues Loss of data between engine and avionics Intermittent connection faults Engine data missing on cockpit displays 8. Environmental sensitivity Problems appear after heat, vibration, or moisture exposure Intermittent faults that come and go   About the Manufacturer – International / Navistar: International, a brand of Navistar International Corporation, is a leading American manufacturer of commercial trucks, buses, and diesel engines.
