7078 Bridge Humbucker

The Tone that started a revolution We all remember the first time we heard that first Van Halen album. Debuting in 1978, those rhythm tracks on You Really Got Me, Jamie’s Cryin’, Little Dreamer, On Fire – they weren’t just songs, they were a revolution. At the heart of that groundbreaking tone was a stock Ibanez® Destroyer loaded with a Maxon® Super 70 in the bridge. The Sheptone 7078 is built to create that exact tone. Handcrafted with uncompromising attention to detail, the 7078 delivers the articulate note definition, massive dynamics, and vintage-correct character that inspired generations of guitarists. I build every pickup by hand using the finest materials: rough cast, degaussed Alnico 8 magnets for power and clarity, 42AWG plain enamel wire computer-wound to exact turn counts for consistent tone, my proprietary double-black butyrate bobbins, and German nickel silver baseplates built to vintage spec. Vintage braided hookup wire completes the historically accurate design. With 49.2mm pole spacing and a resistance that averages around 7.7k, the 7078 is the closest you can get to that legendary tone. This may be the last pickup you’ll ever buy… unless, of course, you own more than one guitar.         Rough finished, degaussed alnico 8 magnets for articulate notes and huge dynamics         42AWG plain enamel wire computer wound to my specific number of winds and tension insures a coil and tone consistent to the originals every single time         My own double black proprietary butyrate bobbins         Vintage spec’d German nickel silver baseplates        Vintage braided wire to stay true to the authenticity of the originals        49.2mm pole spacing         Resistance may vary from one to the next since the winding process goes strictly by the number of turns of wire but DC resistances tend to be around 7.7k
