Sodalite Mountain Lion by Loren Tsalabutie

A fantastic white, navy and cobalt blue sodalite mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Loren Tsalabutie standing upright on its hind legs looking to its right side and up at the viewer with turquoise inlaid eyes. There is a long necklace that adorns the lion composed of small round apple coral beads surrounding five larger turquoise beads. The tail on back is carved in relief curling upwards on the right side of the rear - ending up one and a half inches above the lion's right foot. Loren has counterbalanced the the weight of the extended right foot and tail with the weight of the lion's head and raised front paws - though it must be noted that there is a delicate balance at play here. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve. Sodalite has A powerful ability to unite logical reasoning with deep intuition. Artist: Loren Tsalabutie (signed) Size: 3-/4 in. wide x 3-1/4 in. long x 3-7/8 in. tall #65155
