Egyptian Marble Mountain Lion by Kenric Laiwakete

A prominent black Egyptian marble mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes and minimal grayish cream and tan veins. Carved by Kenric Laiwakete, the legs are carved as two simplified forms and the tail is raised and flipping upwards. There is a striking turquoise healing heart line inlaid to the lion's left side. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
