Picture Jasper Badger by Bremette Epaloose - Deceased

A sand and golden umber veined picture jasper plump badger with a long snout and turquoise inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Bremette Epaloose - who sadly died in 2015. Bremette incised two lines down the middle of the badger's back and then incised small triangles on both sides of and inlaid thirteen dots inside them. The badger is revered as the primary guardian of the South, symbolizing healing and a deep knowledge of the earth. As a fetish, the badger represents passion, persistence, and the ability to find herbal remedies like roots. Independent and tenacious; the badger is also a symbol of protection and defense, because the badger is always ready to defend its boundaries.
