A distinctive prominent muted cream and gray veined Picasso marble maiden figure balancing an olla/water jar filled with turquoise water chips on its head. Carved by Sandra Quandelacy, the carving features a corn maiden on one side and a mother on the opposite side - both have jet pigment inlaid features. Sandra gave both maidens pendants - one carved in turquoise the other in coral. The corn maiden has nicely incised corn rows with dots inlaid in the corn rows representing kernels - inlaid with bits of turquoise, lapis, apple coral and malachite. The shawl covers the mother's manta with an incised dragonfly on one side and star bursts on the other - all are inlaid with jet pigment. Maidens symbolize the divine gift of the harvest, fertility, and life-giving abundance. They are highly revered fetishes representing the nurturing feminine energies, the creation of sustenance, and the connection to the earth's cycles. Artist: Sandra Quandelacy (signed) Size: 1-1/2 in. wide x 1 in. deep x 3-1/4 in. tall #64891
