Picasso Marble Bear by Fred Leekya

A adorable gray, brown, gray and black veined Picasso marble medicine bear carved by Fred Leekya with one prominent grayish cream spot placed on the top and right side of the bear. Fred gave the bear a pen shell inlaid snout and coral tongue and has the bear looking up at the viewer with turquoise inlaid eyes. Fred added a simple offering bundle to the top of the bear's back with sinew featuring a abalone iridescent arrowhead topped with a smaller turquoise arrowhead. The Zuni tribe views the bear as a powerful symbol of healing, protection, strength, and introspection. As the designated protector of the West, the bear is considered a vital spiritual guide and is a source of wisdom during times of change and transition. Picasso marble is a metamorphic limestone prized for its metaphysical abilities to ground energy, spark creativity, and foster self-discipline.
