Mount Lemmon, AZ Quartz Mountain Lion by Sherdine Tsatte

A brown spotted dark and muted olive green colored Mount Lemmon, AZ quarried mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Sherdine Tsatte - Loren Tsalabutie's mother - delivered to Sunshine Studio in early July of 2026. Sherdine has carved the tail in low relief on the back - ending up near the lion's top right hind leg. There is a lovely offering bundle strapped to the top of the lion with sinew featuring a softer green serpentine arrowhead topped with a small turquoise tear shaped bead surrounded by two smaller apple coral beads. Mount Lemmon is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains and is a geological showcase of metamorphic core complexes and igneous intrusions. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
