A plump grayish black marble porcupine with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Herbert Hustito, Jr in a style made popular by his deceased father. Lines are incised on the body to create the spikes. The Zuni view the porcupine as a symbol of faith and trust. By carrying or owning a porcupine carving, it is believed you can invoke childlike humility, innocence, and wonder. Artist: Herbert Hustito, Jr. (signed) Size: 7/8 in. wide x 2-1/4 in. long x 7/8 in. tall #64874
