Turquoise Butterfly Maiden by Sandra Quandelacy

A lovely turquoise butterfly maiden with jet inlaid features created from one piece of turquoise with a tan matrix carved by Sandra Quandelacy and delivered to Sunshine Studio in May of 2026. The maiden has wings is created as one form - with the fore wing and the hind wing delineated with lines radiating all around each edge. There are inlaid dots on both both sides of the wings - created from bits of jet, malachite, spiny oyster, clam shell, lapis and apple coral. The maiden is mounted to a dolomite base for added stability. The butterfly maiden's themes are rebirth, beauty, fertility, balance, freedom, and nature. Every spring the butterfly maiden dances from flower to flower, pollinating the fields and flowers and bringing life giving rain to the desert.
