A striking soft gray and black veined spirit stone wolf carved by Ryan Awelagte looking to its right side with turquoise inlaid eyes. The back is heightened at the front of the body. Ryan carved the legs as two simplified forms though he added definition around the wolf's feet. There is a simple offering bundle added to the top of the wolf's body with sinew featuring pin, melon shell and turquoise beads surrounding a spiraling bit of melon shell. For the Zuni, the wolf represents loyalty, family devotion, and the strength of the community. Because wolves mate for life and hunt together in packs, the Zuni see them as ultimate symbols of lifelong partnership, cooperation, and group survival. Artist: Ryan Awelagte (signed) Size: 7/8 in. wide x 2-7/8 in. long x1-7/8 in. tall #64853
