A dark olive green purisima frog with prominent turquoise beaded eyes with lapis inlaid pupils carved by Burt Awelagte. The striking cream and brown colored embedded shells in the limestone move the viewer's eye all over this carving. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Burt Awelagte (signed) Size: 1-5/8 in. wide x 2-1/4 in. long x 5/8 in. tall #64770
