Antler Bird, Elf Owl by Troy Sice

A small cream colored antler elf owl with gold-lip and pen shell inlaid eyes and dark mother-of-pearl beak carved by Troy Sice with it's small body stretched forwards allowing the back side of the owl's body to predominate. Of note are the small chipped carved arc shapes on the back and sides of the bird's head that are burnished a lovely sepia brown color. The same technique is utilized at the top of the heart shaped wings with the lower area of the wings and tail treated as burnished stripsThe talons as well are burnished. The elf owl symbolizes adaptability, intuition, and quiet strength. As the world’s smallest raptor - it reminds us to rely on our wits, embrace our uniqueness, and look at the bigger picture.
