Turquoise Mountain Lion by Stewart Quandelacy

A turquoise mountain lion with a brown matrix carved by Stewart Quandelacy with its turquoise inlaid eyes and head tilted downwards - creating a visual focus on the perky upright ears as well as the tail carved in low relief - created in the traditional Zuni style on top of the lion's back. Stewart has inlaid a turquoise healing heart line on the lion's left side that resembles an EKG. Note that there is some clear epoxy around the heart line and triangle that makes everything flush. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
