A prominent golden cream and red sienna streaked wild horse rock rabbit carved by Andres Lementino with turquoise inlaid eyes and incised whiskers, nostrils and mouth. Andres has carved the ears raised with each ear leaning slightly in the opposite direction. The front feet and tail bringing up the rear are carved in high relief. An offering bundle has been added around the rabbit's neck - with one larger turquoise disk shaped bead surrounded by smaller round turquoise and pearl beads. The Zuni believe the rabbit represents virtue, serenity, quiet talent and restraint. The rabbit also symbolizes fertility, luck, and creativity. Often associated with springtime and new beginnings, these happy critters are a reminder that life is full of possibility.
