Antler Maiden by Claudia Peina

A tall majestic maiden carved looking upwards at the sky - carved by Claudia Peina in a piece of cream, and prominent gray colored antler with jet slit style inlaid eyes and apple coral mouth. The maiden wears a tablita headdress with long flowing hair incised on the back side. The tablita has six incised lines that extend half way down the headdress that are shaped at the top then inlaid with two turquoise dots. A lovely fourteen dot squash blossom necklace is worn for adornment as well as a sash that has eight turquoise hand made dots inlaid between jet pigment inlaid triangles and two jet vertical lines. The lower portion of the maiden's matta/dress is adorned with three rain clouds - with diagonal incised lines inlaid with jet pigment. There are four incised dragonflies inlaid with jet pigment with pin shell, coral and turquoise dots surrounding the rain clouds and dragonflies.
