Sodalite Medicine Bear by Loren Tsalabutie

A plump prominent cobalt blue and white veined sodalite bear with pin point coral inlaid eyes carved by Loren Tsalabutie standing on its hind legs leaning forwards with its front paws raised up - in a 'I'm on my way' kind of gesture. We love how one white vein wraps around the sides of the body by way of the bear's mouth creating a natural heart line. Note that the bear's face has a prominent gray coloration combined with the white and different shades of blue colors found on the rest of the bear's body. The bear stands perfectly in spite of leaning over quite extensively - portraying in stone, Loren's skill with balance. The bear wears an offering bundle like a necklace featuring round coral beads separated by eight Russian emerald green semitransparent stones from Russia - called diopside. The Zuni believe the Creator made the bear to be a guardian for mankind. The bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm.
