Picasso Marble Badger by Lance Cheama

A brown umber, black and two tone gray colored Picasso marble badger carved by Lance Cheama looking up at the viewer with turquoise inlaid eyes. Lance has carved all the legs and feet in the round and he has incised the badger stripe as a leaf on top of the badger's back. He then incised fur running horizontally down both sides of the badger's body. The badger is revered as the primary guardian of the South, symbolizing healing, protection, and deep knowledge of the earth. As a fetish, the badger represents passion, persistence, and the ability to find herbal remedies (roots). Artist: Lance Cheama (signed) Size: 1 in. wide x 2-1/4 in. long x 7/8 in. tall #64445
