A Belgian marble crow with one prominent brown colored wing carved by Chris Sandoval. Chris created a base from the same stone - allowing the bird to have a lyrical pose - looking upwards at the sky with turquoise inlaid eyes. There are nicely defined feather rows on the wings with the rest of the body in contrast - carved smooth and polished. Chris gave the crow a wonderful offering bundle created as a necklace with turquoise beads surrounding one branch coral bead. The Zuni people believe the crow is the keeper of sacred law. In the Zuni creation myth - when the Zunis reached the Middle World - what we call earth - they were given a choice between two eggs. Some of the Zuni tribe chose the blue egg and consequently journeyed to their current homeland; destined to have a life full of toil with the crow as their guide - forever known as the Winter people. Artist: Chris Sandoval Size: 1 in. wide x 2 in. long x 4 in. tall #64384
