A small shiny black marble raven with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Loren Tsalabutie with an apple coral bead in its mouth - depicting how ravens like colorful shiny objects. There are incised lines on the wings and tail to describe the feather rows. Note that there is one prominent gray vein running down the center of the raven's body - starting at right side of the beak, extending all the way to the right side of the raven's tail. The rest of the streaks on the body are simply from the shine of bright lights. The Zuni artists have told Sunshine Studio that ravens are filters and they are messengers of the great mystery; so they represent a change in consciousness. Ravens are the makers of light, thus the raven symbolizes the ultimate creator of all things that existed before the beginning of time. Artist: Loren Tsalabutie (signed) Size: 3/4 in. wide x 1-7/8 in. long x 1-1/8 in. tall #64314
