Picasso Marble Lizard by Lance Cheama

A fantastic, detailed gray, black, brown, cream and tan colored Picasso marble lizard carved by Lance Cheama looking slightly to its right side with expressive turquoise inlaid eyes and a deeply incised mouth. There is a long tail that creates a loop behind the body that ends up right above the lizard's neck - carved in high relief. Lance incised cross hatch marks on the body that depict the lizard's skin. Lizards are associated with healing, survival and protection - especially of children - as well as prosperity, renewal, good luck and also masculinity.
