Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Wilfred Cheama

A chalky grayish cream and minimally brown spotted Picasso marble mountain lion carved by Wilfred Cheama looking to its left side with big turquoise inlaid eyes in an expressive face. The cat's legs and feet are all carved in the round with the tail bringing up the rear in the upright position. Wilfred has incised fur all over the lion's body. For the Zuni, the lion is the guardian of the north. The lion is the master hunter; revered for its intelligence, prowess and strength of will.
