Dolomite Badger by Melvin Sandoval

A prominent two tone muted pink dolomite badger carved by the abstract artist Melvin Sandoval. The salient forms are the badger's nose, ears and tail. There is a simple offering bundle strapped to the top of the badger's back with sinew featuring San Felipe made melon shell and turquoise heishi surrounding two larger turquoise beads placed at the center. Badger medicine bolsters one's defenses; most especially self preservation skills by focusing/guiding the spirit to be more tenacious and grounded when working towards a goal.
