Antler Bird, Eagle by Garrick Weeka

A prominent cream and brown streaked antler eagle carved by Garrick Weeka with big round turquoise inlaid eyes and its wings opened in flight. Garrick has carved lines all over the eagle's body to denote feather rows as well as individual feathers - leaving the bird's beak and talons smooth. Eagle medicine helps man to gain perspective of self - namely in panoramic vision. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
