Jet Bird, Raven Double by Rochelle Quam

A small jet raven double carved by Rochelle Quam sitting next to each other looking in opposite directions with sterling silver inlaid eyes. Rochelle has added incised lines to the bodies - expressing the feather rows on the wings and tail - though the beaks have been left smooth and polished. Birds carved as doubles express in stone the team work required in raising offspring - no mater the species. The Zuni artists have told Sunshine Studio that the ravens are filters - separating the the bad from the good. Ravens are messengers of the great mystery; they represent a change in consciousness.
