A small jet frog with round turquoise inlaid eyes and horizontal jet slit style inlaid pupils. Carved by Andres Lementino, there is one turquoise tadpole inlaid to the top of the mother frog's back. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Andres Lementino (signed) Size: 1 in. wide x 1-3/8 in. long x 7/8 in. tall #63913
