Wild Horse Rock Mountain Lion by Alex Tsethlikai

A personable, plump grayish cream spotted, red sienna and brown streaked wild horse rock mountain lion with a yellow ocher vein strategically placed circling the snout - making the vibrant blue turquoise inlaid eyes pop. Carved by Alex Tsethlikai, the lion has legs carved as two forms with incised lines in the middle, distinguishing the individual feet. The tail bringing up the rear is carved in high relief from the same stone with incised fur lines added on the tip of the upturned tail. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
