Labradorite Bird, Eagle With Salmon by Loren Tsalabutie

An animated labradorite eagle with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Loren Tsalabutie swooping down from the sky, capturing a salmon in its talons. Both creatures are carved from one stone and the fire in the stone is prevalent all over. Loren incised minimal feather rows on the wings and tail - choosing instead to leave the carving smooth and nicely polished. Eagle medicine helps man to gain perspective of self - namely in panoramic vision. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
