Serpentine Frog by Hiram Peynetsa

An blackish gray veined olive green serpentine resting frog carved by Hiram Peynetsa looking to its left side with turquoise eyes. HIram has given this frog anthropomorphic qualities - like the front feet clasped under the face and the crossed hind legs. There are seven turquoise dots inlaid to the center of the frog's back in a circle. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Hiram Peynetsa (signed) Size: 3 in. long x 1-1/2 in. wide x 1 in. tall #63742
