A red sienna, muted peach and maroon veined Utah sandstone carved eagle with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Burt Awelagte. Burt has added a simple offering bundle to the top of the eagle's body with sinew featuring turquoise beads surrounding a small white and brown colored mollusk shell. Eagle medicine helps man to gain perspective of self - namely in panoramic vision. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
