Nevada Sandstone aka; Wonderstone Sea Turtle by Leland Boone and Daphne Quam

A smooth to the touch muted cream, brown umber, burnt and red sienna veined Nevada Sandstone sea turtle with powder blue turquoise inlaid eyes. We are happy to have this lovely delivered to Sunshine Studio recently by Leland Boone and his partner Daphne Quam. The back is left smooth and polished - allowing the veins on top to shine. Lines have been incised on the feet. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth. The turtle is regarded as a skillful navigator through life's difficulties. Turtle medicine teaches one to go with the flow.
