Antler Badger With Cub by Raymond Tsalate

A badger with its cub carved in pieces of cream and gray tinged/spotted antler by Ray Tsalate. Both badgers have turquoise inlaid eyes, burnished ears and pen shell inlaid snouts. The badger stripes are incised then inlaid with green serpentine pigment on the inner stripe that forms a leaf shape and jet on the outer stripe. The marrow's porous black/gray spotted areas are placed on the chins and chests. As well the cub has a darker marrow area on top of its back right behind the ears/ Animals carved with their offspring display the bond that occurs between a parent and child no matter the species. Badger medicine bolsters one's defenses; most especially self preservation skills by focusing/guiding the spirit to be more tenacious and grounded when working towards a goal.
