A striking caramel and cream spotted tijilite mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes and double heart line carved by Kenric Laiwakete. Kenric has carved the legs as two simplified forms then added a one and three quarter inch long tail to bring up the rear. The tail floats above the ground - thanks to the weight of the lion's body and Kenric's skill. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve. Artist: Kenric Laiwakete (signed) Size: 1/2 in. wide x4-1/8 in. long x 1-3/8 in. tall #63456
