Picasso Marble Frog by Enrike Leekya

A small gray and white veined Picasso marble frog with turquoise dots added to the raised eye sockets. Carved by Enrike Leekya, the frog has five turquoise dots inlaid at the top of each leg and has a dragonfly on its tongue. The dragonfly has a turquoise body and gold-lip inlaid wings - glued soundly to the frog's cedar tongue. Note: The tongue and butterfly are not inlaid to the circular mouth opening so will arrive with a small tube of epoxy. The Zuni consider dragonflies to be the messenger between humans and the Creator and frogs are the bringers of rain. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
