Serpentine Frog by Rodney Laiwakete

A lime and grass green veined serpentine frog with convex eye sockets inlaid with turquoise dot eyes inlaid at the top by Rodney Laiwakete. Rodney has inlaid lots of dots to the top of the frog's back and legs - utilizing four lapis, five coral and four turquoise dots. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Rodney Laiwakete (signed) Size: 1-1/8 in. wide x 2-1/4 in. long x 3/4 in. tall #63274
