Serpentine Bobcat by Wilfred Cheama

A fairly large viridian, sage, lime green colored and white veined serpentine bobcat with big turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Wilfred Cheama descending for a lofty perch. The composition is unique - with the head at the lowest point of the carving and the tail in the upright position. Wilfred has incised fur all over the bobcat's body. The rock in contrast is left nice and smooth with the legs and feet carved in high relief. The bobcat is the prey God of the south - honored by the Zuni for being elusive, intelligent and a solitary and independent hunter.
