A striking spiny oyster maiden figure created by Sandra Quandelacy depicting two mothers on the more prominent white side and two corn maidens on the opposite more candy cane alizarin crimson and white streaked side - all with jet inlaid features. Five dragonflies have been incised and inlaid with jet on one side and then there are two jet star bursts added to the opposite corn maiden side. Sandra incised the corn rows on the two corn maidens then added three dots to them - utilizing bits of apple coral, purple alunite and turquoise. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and corn maidens are revered in Zuni for giving up their life to help sustain the Zuni tribe with their corn bodies. Artist: Sandra Quandelacy (signed) Size: 1-3/8 in. wide x 1/2 in. deep x 2-1/4 in. tall #63102
