A soft ivory colored California quarried onyx medicine bear carved by Chris Sandoval with turquoise inlaid eyes - delivered to Sunshine Studio in late December of 2024, Chris added a lovely offering bundle to the top of the bear's back with sinew featuring four spiny oyster beads surrounding a amber bead with one turquoise bead placed at the center. The medicine bear shape is thought to resemble a cave opening - depicting a bear coming out of hibernation and the pose suggests that the bear is sniffing the ground for healing herbs. The Zuni believe the bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm. Artist: Chris Sandoval Size: 3/4 in. wide x 2-3/4 in. long x 2-1/4 in. tall #62951
