Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Lance Cheama

A fur incised gray, black and brown veined Picasso marble mountain lion carved by Lance Cheama looking intently at the viewer with turquoise inlaid eyes. Lance has carved all the legs in the round and added a long tail that curls upwards at the end. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
