Mother-of-Pearl Otter by Peter Natachu, Jr., Deceased

A small mother-of-pearl floating otter with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Peter Natachu holding a pipestone pup in its forearms. Peter was known for his inlaid tails and this otter's tail is no exception. There are alternating jet and turquoise strips of color inlaid to this tail - quite lovely. An animal carved with its offspring suggests the love and care it takes to raise a baby - no matter the species. The otter symbolizes the inner child in us all - celebrating joy in life's simple pleasures, passion for the things that your heart desires, and freedom to do what your instincts are telling you.
