White Marble Bird, Horned Owl by Andres Lementino

A white marble horned owl carved by Andres Lementino looking to its right side with turquoise and jet inlaid eyes. Andres has incised two rows of dash like lines that circle round the outer sides of the owl's eyes and he has also added lines on the wings to depict feathers. The Zuni believe the owl can see what others can not - they assist in helping to root out deception and they can get to the essence of true wisdom. It is common to feel spiritually activated when you see or hear an owl. They are messengers from the spirit realm - bringing wisdom, truth, and understanding of the mysteries of life.
