Granite Quartz Buffalo by Chris Sandoval

A striking muted gray and red sienna /colored granite quartz found rock buffalo carved by Chris Sandoval with one cream colored vein circuling the top of the bufalo's body.. Chris says that the stone was found near the Rio Grande River near Coralles, NM - which is just north of Albuquerque. The salient forms added to distinguish this plump animal are the angle of the buffalo's muscles in the neck and mane area, the horns and the shape of the buffalo's face. Oval shaped eye sockets have been incised with slightly delineated rounded pupils formed in their centers. There is an outstanding offering bundle strapped around the buffalo's girth as well with sinew featuring wampun beads surrounding spiny oyster beads with a tear shaped turquoise bead added to the center of the buffalo's back with amethyst and orange spiny oyster beads surrounding it. The buffalo helps mankind to overcome all obstacles, builds emotional courage, brings abundance and initiates prayerfulness.
