White Marble Horse by Andres Lementino

A regal white marble horse with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Andres Lementino - delivered to Sunshine Studio in May of 2024. Andres has carved the legs in the round with good confirmation adding incised lines to the mane and long tail. Of note is Andres' signature Zuni sun face inlaid to the horses left hind leg - utilizing bits of apple coral, jet, turquoise, gold-lip and mother-of-pearl. The Zuni sun face is an ancient symbol in Zuni culture, representing the sacred Sun Father. The symbol's round motif depicts the Sun with a forehead split down the middle to reflect the eternal balance between sunrise and sunset. The horse represents the power of the animal world literally "harnessed" for the benefit of the human race. Horse medicine calls the self to expand one's own potential abilities, tethering control of the environment, inter-species communication and offers us a good example of cooperation. The Zuni believe the horse has healing powers. Artist: Andres Lementino (signed) Size: 7/8 in. wide x 3 in. long x 2-3/4 in. tall #62436
