Picasso Marble Frog by Herbert Him

A striking prominent gray, brown and black veined Picasso marble frog with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Herbert Him protecting the village that they rest upon. Carved by Herbert Him, there is one striking white area that has been strategically placed above the eyes. In other words, this white area is not inlaid. Herbert has carved the front legs almost completely in the round on top of the village. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frog sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Herbert Him (signed) Size: 1 in. wide x 2-1/8 in. long x 1-5/8 in. tall #62406
