Leopard Marble Bird, Horned Owl by Andres Lementino

A muted black, gray, yellow and golden ocher colored leopard marble horned owl carved by Andres Lementino looking directly at the viewer with turquoise and jet inlaid eyes. Andres has incised lines on the owl's wings, tail and plumicorns as well as adding lines that radiate around the eyes. The great horned owl is named for the tufts of feathers that sit on top of its head, called plumicorns. The Zuni believe the owl can see what others can not - they assist in helping to root out deception and they can get to the essence of true wisdom.
