A small gray, tan and brown colored Picasso marble maiden figure carved by the now deceased Rhoda Quam depicting one corn maiden and six women - all carrying olla/water jars on their heads. Rhoda has inlaid the faces with abalone,apple coral, spiny oyster, pink mussel, green snail, and clam shell to name most - all have jet inlaid features. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
