Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Lance Cheama

A prominent gray, black and brown veined Picasso marble mountain lion carved by Lance Cheama taking a step forward as it looks to its left side with turquoise inlaid eyes. Lance has carved the legs in the round and he has created a tail that curls with the tip at the top - getting support from both ends. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
