Serpentine Seal by Kevin Chapman

A dark and muted lime green and black spotted lean serpentine seal with jet inlaid eyes carved by Kevin Chapman. The seal rests on its chest thanks to its pectoral flippers and tail. Seals are often depicted in potlatch artifacts in Northwestern tribal culture and are believed to have spiritual powers that allow them to act as messengers and guides between the physical and spiritual realms. They may also be seen as spiritual helpers who offer wisdom and guidance, and can connect people with their ancestors or spiritual beings.
